    Here are just a few astounding and undeniable statistics about Fraternity and Sorority membership.
     

    Greeks are SUCCESSFUL

    • Of North America's 50 largest corporations, 43 are headed by Fraternity men and Sorority women.

    • 71% of those listed in "Who in America" belong to a fraternity.

    • 85% of Fortune 500 Executives belong to a fraternity or a sorority.

    • 76% of all Congressman and Senators belong to a Fraternity or Sorority.

    • Of U.S. Supreme Court Justices since 1910, 85% (40 out of 47) have been Greek.

    • 63% of the U.S. President's cabinet since 1900 have been Greek.

    •  All but two U.S. President's since 1825 have been Greek.

    • 43 of the 100 members of the U.S. Senate are members of a fraternity or sorority.


    Greeks are SMART

    • The Greek system boasts an all-around GPA higher than the average UCSD GPA.
       
    • Statistics show that Greeks have an overall higher rate of graduation.

    • A U.S. Government study shows that over 70% of all those who join a fraternity/sororitiy graduate, while under 50% of all non-fraternity/sorority persons graduate .


    Greeks CARE

    • Combined, UCSD Fraternity and Sorority members contributed over 42,000 hours of community service and raised over $77,000 for their respective philanthropic endeavors.
       
    • Over $7 million is raised each year by Greeks nationally 
       
    • 850,000 hours are volunteered by active greeks annually
       
    • The Greek system is the largest network of volunteers in the US, with members (active and alumni) donating over 10 million hours of volunteer service each year



    Greeks are EVERYWHERE

    • There are 123 fraternities and sororities with 9 million members total
       
    • There are 750,000 undergraduate members in 12,000 chapters on more than 800 campuses in the USA and Canada.
